Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Clerk to join our team at Red Recruit. As a Customs Clerk, you will be responsible for processing client data, managing shipping information, and applying customs and excise duties and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Customs Process Management: Assist in managing customs processes efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Professional Development: Develop your strengths and improve your weaknesses, taking advantage of training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication within the team, providing feedback to the Team Leader and team on tasks and projects.
- Customs Knowledge: Learn basic customs import formalities and procedures using SCDP (Special Customs Declaration Procedures), operating Duty Management computer systems.
- Account Management: Assist with the day-to-day management of duty management accounts, ensuring compliance with authorisation and SOPs.
- Warehouse Operations: Process customs warehouse removals within compliant timeframes and maintain stock records.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general office administration tasks, such as filing and recordkeeping.
- Client Liaison: Liaise with HMRC, clients, and suppliers regularly, providing excellent customer service and support.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum 5 GCSEs grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
- Academic Record: A good academic record.
- Training: Full training would be given.
