Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transactional Finance Assistant to join our team in Wilmslow, Cheshire. This role is ideal for someone looking for a challenging and dynamic environment where they can utilize their accounting skills to drive business growth.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a salary of £30,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable, checking stock invoices against purchase orders, processing concession self-bills, creating wholesale sales invoices, and reconciling supplier statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process all payable invoices through software and into the finance system, coding these appropriately
  • Check stock invoices to purchase orders and query any variances with buying and merchandising teams
  • Process concession self-bills and reconcile these to sales reports
  • Create wholesale sales invoices
  • Oversee accounts receivable and chase up late payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Provide remittances to suppliers who request them
  • Prepare weekly payment run and provide variance analysis on this to the finance manager, then set payments up in the bank ready for approval by the finance manager
  • Reconcile all bank receipts and payments
  • Verify bank details over the phone with overhead suppliers
  • Process employee expenses (both credit card and reimbursed) and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Reconcile petty cash
