The Clinical Liaison Specialist is tasked with scientifically engaging, collaborating, and aligning with a diverse array of external stakeholders to address identified patient needs, ultimately enhancing the practice of medicine for improved patient access and outcomes. This role leverages the appropriate evidence at critical moments during scientific interactions and identifies medical intelligence and opportunities that influence and inform medical scientific communication, collaboration, science data generation plans, and overall medical strategy. The Clinical Liaison Specialist also contributes to innovative partnerships and implements relevant disease area strategies, acting as a strategic scientific partner while collaborating with other field colleagues to support healthcare systems in strengthening patient access and outcomes. This position requires a high level of expertise in the therapeutic area and an expectation of increased responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, maintain, and personalize long-term professional partnerships through scientific exchange with a wide range of external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, medical experts, researchers, and opinion leaders.
  • Deliver expert medical education to stakeholders in infusion centers and referring hospitals, enabling informed decision-making.
  • The successful candidate will focus approximately 80% of their time on field activities, including preparation, visits, data dissemination, and scientific exchange.
  • Collaborate with health systems to identify external medical intelligence, data gaps, and key unmet needs to enhance patient access and outcomes.
  • Support the clinical trial process in partnership with clinical research colleagues, including site recommendations and managing investigator relationships.
  • Respond to unsolicited information requests from stakeholders by sharing relevant data regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Identify and share external medical intelligence, data generation opportunities, and unmet needs to improve patient access and outcomes.
  • Ensure proper identification and mapping of external stakeholders aligned with the medical strategy, creating personalized engagement strategies that adapt to the changing needs of stakeholders.
  • Utilize digital channels for broader, effective, and personalized outreach, in addition to leading impactful scientific events and medical education.
  • Apply foundational principles of impactful scientific engagement in stakeholder interactions, aligned with medical strategy and portfolio prioritization.
  • Serve as a strategic internal partner, leveraging medical intelligence for contributions to patient journey mapping and integrated evidence generation plans.
  • Utilize knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area to act as the medical, clinical, and scientific expert for field colleagues.
  • Typical activities may include mentoring and training colleagues, leading high-level projects, and representing the team at meetings.
  • Manage personal and professional development effectively.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities promptly, including compliance training and expense reporting.
  • Adhere to all company Ethics and Compliance Policies and guidelines for External Engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with account managers to address specific challenges and establish team responsibilities.
  • Work extensively with the medical team and business unit members in cross-functional key account management.
