MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON - Rare Diseases

YOUR ROLE

In this crucial field-based position, you will interact with healthcare professionals to educate and convey clinical and scientific information, furthering Amgen's scientific initiatives in line with the company's objectives.

  • Address unsolicited inquiries in accordance with MSL compliance standards
  • Provide and/or present field insights and observations to internal teams
  • Develop and execute local outreach plans aligned with the scientific engagement strategy
  • Facilitate speaker training as needed and ensure speakers are informed of new data
  • Support research initiatives sponsored by Amgen
  • Engage with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical studies
  • Lead and/or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and initiatives
  • Enhance the MSL value proposition, identify opportunities for improvement, achieve outcomes, and exemplify Amgen's values and leadership qualities. Communicate and interact with others with professionalism and integrity
  • Lead and support congress activities in alignment with strategic goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, acting as the primary contact
  • Maintain clinical expertise and ensure timely completion of required training

Your insights from the field will inform strategy development and address research gaps and unmet needs. This role requires a professional adept at effectively communicating complex scientific topics with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships within the medical community, and advancing Amgen's mission to enhance patient health outcomes.

You will be part of a Medical team that includes a Medical Manager, Scientific Communications Manager, Medical Science Liaisons, and cross-functional partners.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MSc) preferred; however, candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and proven experience will be considered
  • Prior field-based experience as an MSL, KAM, or Sales Representative, preferably in rare diseases
  • Understanding of the ABPI code and regulatory processes, along with familiarity with the NHS

LOCATION: This role is national in scope and requires frequent travel.
