The Opportunity
Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Building Services department as a Lecturer in Building Services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in building services and general construction, across a range of levels of further education, higher education, and/or apprenticeship provision.
Key responsibilities will include programme leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties, as well as undertaking a range of teaching and assessment tasks.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in building services or electrical maintenance, and a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the domestic or commercial construction and built environment sector.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of level 3 electrical qualification or a relevant industry-recognised standard, a post-16 teaching qualification, and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
Strong oral and written communication skills, good IT skills, and the ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines are essential.
The successful candidate will be part of a well-motivated, cohesive, and successful team, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our Building Services department.

- Delivering and assessing learning programmes in building services and general construction
- Undertaking programme leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties

- Participating in departmental and college-wide initiatives and activities
