The Opportunity
Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Building Services department as a Lecturer in Building Services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in building services and general construction, across a range of levels of further education, higher education, and/or apprenticeship provision.
Key responsibilities will include programme leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties, as well as undertaking a range of teaching and assessment tasks.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in building services or electrical maintenance, and a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the domestic or commercial construction and built environment sector.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of level 3 electrical qualification, a post-16 teaching qualification, and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
Experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE, and/or Apprenticeships, as well as a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice, is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, and possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as good IT skills.
The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
