About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tendering Engineer - Automation Solutions to join our team at Rubicon Consulting.

This is a permanent opportunity located in Staffordshire, with hybrid working available for those within reasonable commute.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of Automation solutions to our customers in the Energy Sector, reporting to the Head of Sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day activities will involve delivering Automation solutions, completing pre-qualification and/or proposal documentation, identifying and detailing solutions to address client requirements, preparing cost estimates, and managing client queries.
  • The role will include assuming the bid lead or liaising with the bid lead and business head for opportunities, requiring exposure to the tendering environment.
  • Experience of SCADA, HMI, PLC, DCS technologies and their associated architectures is essential, as well as an understanding of project lifecycles, design, implementation, testing, site installation, and commissioning of these systems.
  • You will interpret client requirements, develop solutions, and identify suitable suppliers when required, with some travel to customer or supplier sites expected.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Automation industry (Digital, Control, and Safety) is required, with a good understanding of engineering processes used in the development and execution of successful solutions.
  • Experience of tendering and understanding of procurement processes, along with commercial acumen commensurate with the role, is necessary.
  • Ability to produce technically and commercially comprehensive proposal documents is essential, as is the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of the Energy generator and renewable sector, and its associated standards, with a software bias, is also required.
  • Experience working with major OEM providers, such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider electric, is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of Cyber Security standards (62443) and their implementation is desirable.
