Investec is a leading specialist bank serving clients in the UK and South Africa. We're looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:We're seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our collections team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for making and taking calls to customers to establish reasons for non-payment, offering payment solutions, and negotiating repayment terms in accordance with FCA principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Make and take calls to customers to establish reasons for non-payment
- Offer payment solutions to customers to restore non-paying customers to good book
- Negotiate agreeable repayment terms in accordance with FCA principles
- Identify vulnerable individuals and escalate cases with our special support team
- Identify cases that require escalation to our Insolvencies team
- Confident communicator with strong verbal communication skills
- Confident and resilient due to high volumes
- Capable of thinking laterally and proactively
- Persuasive, persistent, and self-motivated
- Hard working and highly collaborative to help the team achieve targets
- Professional with excellent customer care skills
- Adaptable to different clients
- Able to learn quickly and work to deadlines
- Strong numerical skills
- Understanding of lease and asset finance
- Knowledge of Consumer Credit Act and other regulatory requirements
- AML/KYC requirements
- Analytical skills
- Ability to negotiate the best outcome and make decisions
- Ability to identify, build, and maintain strong relationships and communicate with key interfaces
