About the Role

Barnardo's are seeking an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team in Rugby, working in partnership with a wide variety of agencies to deliver services in Children and Family Centres.

The successful candidate will deliver a range of services including 1:1 support, group activities and courses, and will work autonomously or as part of a team to deliver activities at our 3 centres and all our outreach sites in Rugby and the surrounding borough.

This role requires a good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and child development, as well as experience of working with children aged 5-19 (up to 25 for SEND). The postholder will also be required to be flexible and able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Offer fun and engaging activities to support children to develop positive social and emotional skills.
  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers.
  • Hold sometimes difficult/challenging conversations with parents.
  • Offer advice and support, or signpost and refer parents to the most appropriate service.
  • Support the service to deliver offer to support KPIs.
