Export Sales Director required to join a renowned manufacturer of inspection and measuring systems.

The Export Sales Director will be responsible for the line management of 3 export sales staff as well as managing and developing agents & distributors throughout the World.

This position requires an engineering sales / technical background, with exposure to export / international sales. People management experience would be advantageous, or someone already in export sales who is looking to progress into a people management position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and implement export activities
  2. Management of 3 Export Sales Managers who cover specific territories
  3. Management and development of an established and new distributor / agent network
  4. Frequent international travel to support all regions
  5. Apply effective leadership, direction and motivation
  6. Review existing distributor performance
  7. Ensure regular team meetings, 1:1s, performance management, appraisals and training & development
  8. Use technical / mechanical engineering knowledge and sales skills to provide applications support to export distributors
  9. Recruitment, training and development of export sales personnel
  10. Plan and manage overseas sales through distributors
  11. Provide product education to export distributors
  12. Liaise with various engineering departments

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in international / export sales as an Export Sales Manager, Export Sales Engineer, International Sales Manager, International Sales Engineer or exposure to dealing with export / international customers or a desire to progress into this
  2. Some exposure selling engineering products / technical equipment. Any knowledge of CNC products, hand tools, capital equipment, inspection, 3D scanning, precision instruments, CNC machines, cutting tools, machining consumables, or related products would be beneficial
  3. Sales team management would be beneficial, however this can be developed as long as you have the export experience
  4. Happy to work remotely with frequent international travel
