About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. As a key member of our clinical service, you will work closely with our experienced team to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to individuals experiencing common mental health problems.

As a Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (LI-CBT) and other NHS-approved modalities. You will work in a supportive environment that prioritizes workforce wellbeing and provides high-quality supervision in both individual and group-based settings.

Key responsibilities will include delivering low-intensity psychological interventions, facilitating psychoeducational courses, and working closely with GPs and staff in Primary Care settings to improve access and develop resources aimed at promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing.

We provide extensive opportunities for continuous professional development, ensuring practitioners keep their skills and knowledge up to date to adhere to best practice. Our team is committed to creating a collaborative and compassionate culture focused on delivering an efficient and effective service for the people of Gloucestershire.

As a Trainee, you will be supported to meet the academic expectations and course requirements stipulated by the University of Exeter. You will also have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including our clinical service, and to develop your skills in risk assessment and management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in a subject enabling you to demonstrate psychological mindedness. You will also need to have significant evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone skills, are essential for this role. You will also need to be able to work in a team and to develop strong relationships with colleagues and service users.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality psychological interventions and who is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for service users. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of mental health issues, we would love to hear from you.
