Job Title: Early Years Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Richmond Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our young children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting healthy eating habits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and nutritional standards
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Collaborate with the nursery team to develop and implement healthy eating initiatives
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting culinary skills and creativity
  • Support with special events, such as BBQs and fetes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for children and staff
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a childcare setting
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits in children
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) certification
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure
