About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Early Years Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Richmond Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive eating culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and minimizing waste
  • Manage stock levels, maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Lead cookery club sessions, promoting healthy eating habits and engaging with children
  • Support nursery activities, such as BBQs and fêtes, and contribute to a positive, happy, and safe environment
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team, parents, and colleagues to maintain a healthy and safe environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
