About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Manager/Business Development Director to join our team at Beacon Primary Care. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Practice, ensuring the efficient running of the Practice and achieving long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and co-ordinate the Practice, ensuring the efficient running of the Practice and achieving long-term strategic objectives.
  • Lead the team in promoting quality and continuous improvement, proactively seeking business opportunities and technological solutions to improve the efficiency and stability of the overall business.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient access, quality of care, and staff engagement.
  • Manage Practice finances, ensuring contracts and policies are up to date and compliant with CQC Regulations.
  • Communicate and work positively with patients, staff, and network colleagues to maximise opportunities for developing the Practice and the range and quality of clinical services.

About Us

Beacon Primary Care is a large Practice with integrated working on 4 sites across West Lancashire, serving a total patient population of 17,000. We believe in clinical excellence and that general practice is the cornerstone of well-being in our community. Our goal is to deliver on the ambitions laid out in the GP forward view in a way that is locally relevant, valued by patients, and satisfying for our staff.

Person Specification

  • Good standard of education with excellent literacy, information technology, and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to identify and negotiate opportunities to enhance service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presenting).
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including chairing meetings and facilitating group work.
  • Able to understand and implement HR policies, staff rights, and responsibilities, and ability to take necessary action in line with HR policies and procedures.
  • Strategic thinker and negotiator with the ability to develop services.
  • Ability to motivate staff even under challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate, and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
