Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a SEND setting in Burton.

About the Role:

We are looking for an individual who is committed to working with children with additional needs and has a desire to make a positive impact on young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day-to-day running of the class
  • Support children during lessons and school activities
  • Support staff and children during lunch and break times
  • Manage pupils' personalised learning based on their individual needs
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group activities
  • Collect evidence of children's work to support their assessment
  • Provide physical management and care of pupils
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Desire to work with, inspire, and support children
  • Interest in supporting young people with a variety of SEND
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Understanding of SEND, PMLD, and Behaviour management
