Educating and inspiring are at the heart of Empowering Learning's mission. We are seeking an exceptional SEND Learning Mentor to join our team in a remarkable SEND setting in Burton.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience of working with young people, with a focus on SEND pupils
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a school team
- A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring children, with a drive to make a positive impact
- Experience working with children with a variety of SEND, with a willingness to adapt and respond to individual needs
- Ability to provide effective support and guidance to children, with a focus on promoting independence and confidence
- Strong understanding of behavioural management, with the ability to de-escalate and manage challenging situations
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day-to-day running of the class, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment
- Provide targeted support to children during lessons and activities, promoting engagement and participation
- Work closely with staff and children during lunch and break times, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans, responding to the individual needs and abilities of each child
- Deliver 1:1 and small group activities, promoting social and emotional development, and supporting the attainment of academic goals
- Collect and record evidence of children's work, supporting their assessment and progress
- Provide physical support and care to pupils, ensuring their safety and well-being
