Job Overview

Birmingham, UK-based infrastructure consultancy firm is seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager to join their team.

As a seasoned Project Controls professional, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team, developing and monitoring the Performance Measurement Baseline, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of project actuals.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale projects, demonstrated proficiency in Project Controls Management or Project Management, and expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and NEC Forms of Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and inspire a Project Controls team, setting objectives, reviewing performance, and fostering a culture of empowerment and creativity.
  2. Develop and monitor the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and ensure its alignment with project goals.
  3. Establish progress measurement methodologies and ensure accurate and timely submission of project actuals.
  4. Use performance measurement techniques such as Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess and predict project performance.
  5. Prepare high-quality, robust periodic reports and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making.
  6. Enhance planning, risk, cost control, and change management processes while ensuring compliance across delivery teams.
  7. Facilitate and manage project-level change forums, escalating high-impact changes, and ensuring they are enacted.
  8. Provide specialist advice to resolve project delays and challenges, leveraging technical knowledge.
  9. Share lessons learned and best practices to drive continuous improvement across the Project Controls community.

Requirements

  1. Proven track record in managing large-scale projects with exceptional results.
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in Project Controls Management or Project Management for complex infrastructure projects.
  3. Formal qualification or certification in Project Management or Project Controls.
  4. Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and NEC Forms of Contract.
  5. Familiarity with Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis (QSRA/QCRA).

Salary

Up to £68k per annum.
