Job Title: Nursery Supervisor and Room Leader
Job Purpose:
To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in providing high quality childcare and planned activities appropriate to the age and stage of development of the children. To maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.
Main Duties:
- Be responsible for the daily running and administration of the nursery should the Manager and Deputy Manager both be absent, including opening and locking up in their absence.
- Support and liaise with the Deputy Manager and the Manager on a daily basis, inputting suggestions and ideas to continuously develop the team and setting.
- Lead the toddler room and support other staff members in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment to encourage and develop children in our care.
- Stay up to date with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure that your practice meets and aims to exceed those requirements.
- Supervise and monitor students and Early Years Assistants/Workers and help integrate new children into the nursery.
- Provide ongoing support under a key worker system, liaising with parents and maintaining good communications.
- Be a key person and carry out development assessments.
- Participate in team meetings and activities outside of working hours if necessary.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the nursery, respecting confidentiality within the setting.
- Communicate relevant information between parents and staff to your supervisor/Nursery Manager as appropriate.
- Communicate with parents, visitors, and outside agencies in a calm, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Carry out any tasks or duties as requested by your Deputy Manager or Nursery Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:
We require a caring, passionate, and dedicated member of staff, minimum childcare level 3 qualified, with a minimum of 3 years experience in Early Years, preferably with leadership experience.
Qualifications:
Relevant level 3 or 4 childcare as defined by the Department for Education (DfE).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Pediatric First Aid Qualification (Desirable but not essential)
- Basic Food and Hygiene Certificate (Desirable but not essential)
Work Requirements:
- Full-time, Permanent
- £12.15-£12.55 per hour
- 40 per week
