About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Development to lead our sales team in the UK. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our sales strategy, managing a team of Business Development Managers, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base.
  2. Manage a team of Business Development Managers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure they meet their targets.
  3. Identify and engage new prospects, build relationships, and close deals to meet sales targets.
  4. Work closely with internal teams to provide tailored solutions for clients and articulate how our products and services can best solve their challenges.
  5. Maintain knowledge across specific industries or regions as a subject matter expert.
  6. Utilize internal relationship teams and relevant management to close sales opportunities.
  7. Identify and develop key referral partnerships/circle of influence relationships with associated organisations, partners, and advisors of our prospective clients.
  8. Account Management – as well as attracting new business, you will continue to manage new customers through to transition stage to our dealing desk.

Requirements:

  1. Prior experience in the Foreign Exchange (FX) or payments industry is essential.
  2. Leadership experience is preferred, but strong sales background and potential for first managerial position will be considered.
  3. Understanding of consultative sales principles and adept at executive corporate level negotiations and building long-term client relationships.
  4. Independent self-starter with a tenacious approach to new business acquisition.
  5. Ability to work autonomously in developing new business growth while liaising with internal account managers to effectively manage the continuity of our customer relationships.
  6. Established networks in regional markets, industry verticals, and associated customer influencers including consultants and accountants.
  7. Highly self-motivated and confident, with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition.
  8. Contribute to a positive team environment and fully embrace diversity.
  9. Fluent English, and excellent communication/presentation skills across all media, as well as ability to use technology (e.g. MS Office, web conferencing, search engines, reporting tools, and sales automation platforms such as Salesforce).
  10. Financially astute with knowledge of business needs/concerns, as well as the commercial impact of global news and events.
  11. Degree level or above preferred or significant professional experience.
