Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Pharmacist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Pharmacist, you will play a key role in leading and developing our clinical pharmacy service, providing expert support to patients and healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to national standards.
  • Conduct medicine reviews and provide expert advice on medication management, promoting evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and carers to promote medication adherence and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and line-manage pharmacy technicians and rotational pharmacists, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Person Specification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experiential practice.
  • Independent prescribing annotation or desire to complete qualification.
  • Keeping professionally up to date, including CPD.
