About the JobWe're seeking a skilled Scientific Software Engineer to join our Data Science Research and Development team. As an SSE, you'll contribute to the development of machine learning tools and platforms for data-driven weather and climate research.
Key Requirements- Experience in software engineering and machine learning.
- Strong technical skills, including programming languages such as Python and Java.
- Knowledge of data science principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
As a Scientific Software Engineer at the Met Office, you'll receive a competitive salary package, including:
- £46,974 per annum, based on location and experience.
- A generous Civil Service pension scheme.
- Annual leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years.
