About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school based in North Birmingham. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to the Teacher in delivering outstanding education to individual children with special educational needs (SEN) and behaviour issues.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Teacher to plan, deliver and assess lessons in accordance with the national curriculum. You will also use specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, such as visual aids, social stories and sensory activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher in planning, delivering and assessing lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Work with individual children and small groups, providing differentiated support and encouragement to meet their specific needs.
  • Use a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, such as visual aids, social stories and sensory activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and how to effectively support children with autism in the classroom.
  • Ability to use a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
