Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a mainstream school in Handsworth.

Role Overview

As a SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with both the class teacher and the SENDCO to deliver tailored support to students with a range of SEND needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEND, helping them to access the mainstream curriculum.
  • Help with personal care and mobility for students where necessary.
  • Encourage social inclusion and assist with peer relationships.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a mainstream school environment.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • A DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • A passion for education and helping students with SEND thrive in a mainstream classroom.
Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum. The duration of the contract is ongoing, with a temporary contract type.
