Site Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to lead our Wind Farm projects in the UK and Ireland. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from planning to execution, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of our renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all project aspects, including specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Implement safe and effective construction methods, adhering to company and statutory health and safety requirements.
- Lead and manage site teams, supervising the execution of site activities, and ensuring compliance with project plans and schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify and resolve operational problems, achieve commercial objectives, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Ensure that all site activities, personnel, and facilities meet the required health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Develop, implement, and review construction programs in conjunction with project managers to meet contractual terms.
- Conduct site inductions, daily toolbox talks, and ensure all site staff and technicians are properly briefed and trained.
- Manage site activities, plant, and labor resources, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing waste.
- Ensure high-standard welfare facilities are installed and maintained on-site.
- Attend safety, progress, and technical meetings, liaising with clients and their representatives in a professional and competent manner.
- Maintain the Project Execution Plan, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Maintain site files, daily diaries, records of operations, and progress against plans.
- Work closely with project managers on commercial aspects, ensuring accurate records are kept, especially of variances, to maximize recovery of unexpected delay costs.
The ideal candidate will hold a HND/degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering) and have experience in a CDM coordinator or PSCS role. They should have a practical understanding of heavy lifting operations, working at heights, and be able to quickly learn all aspects of wind farms and wind turbines.
The candidate will hold a CSCS Site Manager accreditation or Irish FAS Safe-Pass, along with Construction Skills SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely, and certificates in First Aid at Work, Manual Handling, Fire Fighting, and working and rescue from Height from a renewables UK-approved provider.
This role requires the ability to work under pressure in remote locations with a small team, being self-reliant and determined to work through challenges. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to lead a team when required, and enjoy working with different teams and partners across our business.
Health and safety is a top priority on our Wind Farms, and the candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety and environmental issues in a site environment. SMTS or IOSH qualifications are an advantage.
This role involves substantive travel across the UK and Ireland, requiring a full UK/Irish driving license.
