Job Title: Neonatal Peer Mentor
Salary: £7,425.60 per annum
Hours: 12 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2025
We are looking for a talented team member to support our breastfeeding project in Glasgow.
This role involves providing one-to-one support to families in neonatal units across the NHS GGC region.
About the Project
- Deliver cot-side breastfeeding support to mothers individually and alongside volunteer supporters.
- Offer expert guidance on breastfeeding techniques and lactation management.
- Work closely with NHS GGC Healthcare Professionals to provide comprehensive support.
- Engage in regular reflective practice with the Neonatal Infant Feeding Lead to ensure best practice.
- Refer complex cases to relevant partner agencies as necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
This is a challenging role that requires strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
You will need to complete training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter and Neonatal Peer Supporter, requiring a minimum of 3 months' breastfeeding experience.
The role may involve occasional travel across the NHS GGC region.
Estimated Salary Range: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum
