As a Litigation and Claims Lawyer at Jet2, you will play a critical role in overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays and aviation claims. You will also handle general litigation within the business and provide supervision and support to juniors within the team, with a strategic focus on minimizing costs to the business while maximizing reclaims from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, assess, and make decisions on pre-litigation and post-lit claims across various business areas.
  • Review and authorize Defences, Schedules of Loss, Instructions to experts, and other relevant documents.
  • Investigate costs incurred by the business to identify potential contributions from external parties.
  • Work closely with the company's brokers, insurers, and loss adjusters to manage claims effectively.
  • Deliver training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims-handling processes.
Requirements
  • A qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience dealing with litigation and claims, preferably in travel law or personal injury.
  • Working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations and Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Experience in in-house travel law would be an advantage.
