Job Title: Hybrid Litigation Solicitor

As a key member of our Litigation and Claims team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays and aviation claims. Your expertise will also be utilized in handling more general litigation within the business, providing supervision and support to juniors within the team, all with a strategic focus on minimizing costs to the business while maximizing reclaims from suppliers.

This role involves providing dedicated support to the General Manager – Litigation and Claims Management and the wider litigation team, generally dealing with legal claims daily, fostering seamless collaboration with external lawyers and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will read, assess, and make decisions on pre-litigation and post-lit claims across a wide range of business areas.
  • You will work closely with the company's brokers, insurers, and their loss adjusters in respect of claims management directly supporting the GM – Litigation and Claims Management.
  • You will deliver training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims-handling processes.
Requirements:
  • We are looking for a Qualified Lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience dealing with litigation and claims ideally in travel law/personal injury.
  • In-house travel experience would be desirable.
  • You will have working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations.
  • You will have full working knowledge of claims handling processes and Civil Procedure Rules.
