Litigation and Claims Specialist

About the Role:
As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays and Jet2.com aviation claims. You will also handle more general litigation within the business and provide supervision and support to juniors within the team, with a strategic focus on minimising costs to the business while maximising reclaims from suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing dedicated support to the General Manager – Litigation and Claims Management and the wider litigation team
* Fostering seamless collaboration with external lawyers and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes
* Reviewing and authorising Defences, Schedules of Loss, Instructions to experts etc.
* Investigating costs incurred by the business to see if contributions can be made from external parties where they are at fault
* Working closely with the company's brokers, insurers, and their loss adjusters in respect of claims management
* Delivering training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims-handling processes
Requirements:
* Qualified Lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience dealing with litigation and claims ideally in travel law/personal injury
* In-house travel experience would be desirable
* Working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations
* Full working knowledge of claims handling processes and Civil Procedure Rules
