Aon is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join our team.

We're looking for a professional with extensive knowledge of employment law and relations to provide practical advice and support on a variety of cases.

As an Employee Relations Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ER advice to business managers and People Partners/HRBPs, using coaching and influencing skills to ensure the right outcome is achieved in each case.

You will advise the business on the understanding, ownership, and application of all aspects of employment legislation, procedural compliance, and best practice.

Key responsibilities will include developing effective and credible relationships with colleagues and clients, delivering an effective internal ER consultancy, and supporting change management programs, including employee consultation.

You will work in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and comply with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of any Group Company.

Requirements

  • Excellent technical employee relations and employment law knowledge gained through employee relations, human resources generalist experience, or through relevant experience in a management or legal role
  • Able to act with sensitivity and diplomacy in dealing with challenging people issues
  • Proven commercial approach with a good understanding of business needs and able to make sound judgements
  • Experience of advising and influencing line managers and adept at handling difficult conversations
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, manage workload to deliver to tight deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Able to work as a team, recognize boundaries of own expertise, and seek input from others as needed
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience
  • Able to effectively utilize IT applications and systems, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
