About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our gastroenterology service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopic gastroenterology services, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the gastroenterology service, aligning with national and NICE frameworks.
  • Supervise and manage junior medical staff, adhering to local employment and human resource policies.
  • Contribute to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as continuing medical education activities.
  • Engage in medical audit and clinical effectiveness activities, fostering improvements in quality and standards.
About the Team

The Gastroenterology Service at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust provides comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal and hepatological disorders. Our team includes experienced consultants, specialist nurses, and support staff, working together to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Higher UK qualification (MRCP or equivalent) recognized by the GMC.
  • Knowledge and application of up-to-date evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for patient care.
  • Experience in postgraduate teaching.
