We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our gastroenterology service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services, including outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopic care.
- Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff.
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of our service.
- Engage in medical education and training, including teaching and mentoring junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development of our service, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to improve patient care.
- Full GMC Registration with a License to Practice.
- Higher UK qualification - MRCP or equivalent recognised by the GMC.
- Knowledge and application of up to date evidence-based practice.
- Ability to full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
- Experience in Postgraduate teaching.
- Knowledge of current trends in specialty.
- Relevant higher Degree either Masters, Doctorate level or equivalent.
- Training in Thoracoscopy and plural ultrasound.
- Subspecialty within Gastroenterology.
