About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our gastroenterology service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services, including outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopic care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of gastroenterology services, ensuring alignment with national and NICE frameworks.
  • Supervise and manage junior medical staff, adhering to local employment and human resource policies.
  • Contribute to teaching, research, and education activities, both locally and nationally.
  • Engage in medical audit and clinical effectiveness activities, fostering improvements in quality and standards.
About the Team

The Gastroenterology Service at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust provides general and sub-specialty care for gastroenterology and hepatology patients. Our team includes experienced consultants, specialist nurses, and support staff, working together to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a License to Practice.
  • Higher UK qualification, such as MRCP or equivalent recognized by the GMC.
  • Experience in postgraduate teaching and research.
