The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Manager to join our team. As a Trade Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all our clients' product import activities comply with national and international customs regulations and trade laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customs Compliance: Ensure all import transactions comply with national and international customs laws and regulations. Prepare, review, and submit all necessary customs documentation required for the clearance of imported products.
  • Trade Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in trade policies, agreements, and regulations that may affect our clients' import operations. Advise on tariff classifications, value declaration, and duty management to optimize trade benefits and comply with legal standards.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between our clients and customs authorities, trade regulators, and other relevant bodies. Ensure effective communication and resolve any compliance issues that may arise.
  • Risk Management: Conduct audits and assessments of import processes and documentation to identify potential compliance risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Training and Development: Educate staff on customs and trade compliance policies and procedures. Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve customs and trade compliance processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in customs and trade compliance, preferably in food and beverage or a related sector, is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international trade agreements.
  • Strong understanding of the importation process, including documentation, classification, and valuation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in customs and trade compliance software and systems.
