Lidl is a leading international retail company with a strong presence in Germany and beyond. As a Customs Classification Assistant Team Manager, you will be part of our dynamic and specialized team, responsible for ensuring the high quality and compliance of our customs activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of specialists, providing day-to-day guidance and workload management
  • Train and coach members of the customs classification team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge
  • Oversee the process of customs classification to ensure adherence to import controls, documentation requirements, and customs duties and taxes
  • Advise on customs classification procedures and provide guidance on applicable legislation
  • Review and analyze customs classification data to identify trends, areas of concern, and improvement opportunities
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice on customs classification-related issues

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience in customs classification, including HS codes, GIRs, and import controls
  • Ability to classify goods and identify applicable legislation, with continuous monitoring of regulatory updates and implementation of changes
  • Level 4+ Diploma in International Trade or other relevant customs and trade certifications and diplomas
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Customs regulations, trade compliance, and international trade agreements
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze large data sets and build dashboards
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to use initiative
  • Highly focused and accurate, with an uncompromising eye for detail
