About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Advisor to join our team in Oxfordshire. As a key member of our small, passionate team, you will play a vital role in delivering a Stop Smoking Service that supports local residents in quitting smoking through a 3-tiered approach.

The successful candidate will have a wide and varied caseload, requiring excellent prioritisation and organisational skills to manage multiple clients' needs via various channels, including community settings, workplaces, and virtual platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the assessment of clients for suitability for the service and eligibility for the right tier of support
  • Carry out CO testing using equipment provided
  • Assess nicotine dependence and readiness to quit using the Fagerstrom test
  • Support clients in making informed decisions on pharmacotherapy, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products and Champix under a local Prescription-Only Medicine (POM) prescription
  • Provide pharmacotherapy via a voucher scheme or direct supply
  • Maintain accurate records for all interactions with the service using our CRM system

A full-time position is available, with core hours Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 5pm. Flexible hours may be required to meet the needs of the service, including evening and weekend work, subject to agreement with the service lead.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literacy and confidence in using online methods of communication
  • Good eye for detail and accuracy with data input and reporting
  • Experience of delivering stop smoking health interventions
  • Customer-facing experience, preferably in a health setting or service
