Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to enhance our Pastry Kitchen. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in organizing daily pastry kitchen operations to uphold the luxury standards of the hotel.
  • Training and supervising pastry team members to ensure compliance with recipes, techniques, and presentation standards.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative pastry menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
  • Overseeing the preparation and production of pastry items, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service for all dining outlets and events.
  • Managing inventory levels of pastry supplies and collaborating with procurement to maintain stock while minimizing waste.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting in scheduling and managing labor costs to maintain efficient staffing levels.
  • Coordinating with other kitchen departments to facilitate smooth workflow and production schedules.
  • Helping to develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of pastry ingredients, techniques, and equipment, with the ability to create a variety of pastry items.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and motivating team members.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in kitchen environments, with a commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Creative passion for pastry, evidenced by a portfolio of visually appealing creations and a willingness to innovate.
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen, with strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and cost control practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
