Accounts and Purchasing Role

This is a varied position within the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, supporting the Accounts & Purchasing team. Key responsibilities include placing purchase orders, processing accounts payable and receivable, checking and processing expense claims, and dealing with queries from colleagues and suppliers.

As a member of the team, you will be able to support other team members in providing a first-class accounts service to the Institute's scientists, including covering their tasks during periods of leave.

The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have the ability to maintain accuracy when working to tight deadlines. An AAT Foundation/Introductory qualification would be an advantage.

The University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine provides modern laboratory accommodation and state-of-the-art research facilities for the Institute's researchers. The administration team covers HR, Finance, IT, Building Services, and Laboratory Management to ensure the Institute runs smoothly.

This is a full-time role with flexibility over the exact number of hours worked, but you would need to work over 5 days (Monday-Friday). The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
