Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Finance Coordinator to support financial administration in the Leverhulme Centre for Life in the University of Cambridge.

This role will contribute to the financial administrations in a highly trained, efficient and flexible manner to the centre manager and PI's affiliated with the Centre.

The post holder will work with staff and postgraduate students across multiple departments and disciplines at the University, including the Departments of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Earth Sciences, Zoology, History and Philosophy of Science, the Institute of Astronomy, the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, the Faculty of Divinity, and the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all financial aspects of the day-to-day operation of multiple projects.
  • Liaise with the Physics Accounts Team and the Research Office Grants team to resolve queries and issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that funds are applied according to the University's financial regulations and procedures.
  • Provide specialised support for research grant of PIs working on the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project.

Requirements

  • Proficient in using IT and financial administration systems and software.
  • Familiarity with the University Finance Systems would be an advantage.
  • Previous administrative and accounting experience would be required.

Working Arrangements

This is a fixed-term position for 18 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
