Job Description

We are seeking an Advanced Machining Technician to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. This is a four-year apprenticeship program that will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the field of engineering.

About the Role:

  • As an Advanced Machining Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting mechanical systems within our sophisticated plant.
  • You will study for a BTEC/equivalent technical certificate on day release at the local training provider, with practical training delivered on site at Springfields in our engineering academy.
  • You will work in a variety of site locations, completing a Machining Technician Apprenticeship and covering modules such as Plan and prepare sequence for the machining activities, ensuring accuracy to specifications.
  • You will start a specialized training program over four years, progressing to show your competency in machining skills to complete your apprenticeship and preparing for your final assessment.
  • On-the-job training on the plant on site, gaining knowledge and practical skills guided by experienced professionals.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • GCSE qualifications in maths, English, and a science subject (grades A-C or 5-9)
  • Enthusiasm for problem-solving and motivation for a role in engineering
