About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in a Special Educational Needs School in Caterham.

The school provides education to children aged 4-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

The successful candidate will work closely with qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals to deliver interventions to children with speech, language, and communicational needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to provide the learning experience of students
  • Provide support with behaviour and pastoral needs of students
  • Contribute to forward planning with therapists to deliver interventions to children
  • Develop strong relationships with students to support their individual needs
  • Apply a practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show empathy and a caring attitude towards students
  • Be flexible and willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures to ensure the well-being of students
  • Provide personal care support to students when needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and undertake relevant CPD opportunities

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with children with special educational needs.

What We Offer:

  • £90 - £110 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am, term time only
  • No previous experience is required.
