SEN Support Assistant Role

This special educational needs school caters to children aged 4-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Most children have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.

We are seeking a motivated graduate to work alongside qualified professionals delivering interventions to children with speech, language, and communicational needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and gain vital experience for your future career.

  • Assist the class teacher in providing students with a tailored learning experience.
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support.
  • Participate in forward planning with therapists.
  • Develop robust relationships with students.
  • Employ a practical approach to meet individual student needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Show empathy and be a good listener.
  • Be willing to work one-to-one and in small groups with students.
  • Maintain student safeguarding in line with procedures.
  • Provide personal care support.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete necessary continuing professional development (CPD).

No prior experience is required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.

The salary for this position is £90-£110 per day, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term time only. The estimated annual salary is approximately £23,400-£28,600. We offer competitive pay and benefits for our employees.
