Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Administrator to join our established team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Credit Control: Making calls and sending emails to customers ensuring payments are received and correctly allocated.
  2. Purchase Ledger: Accepting stock, processing purchase invoices, accurately coding up and resolving any invoice approval issues.
  3. Sales Ledger: Processing returns, issuing credit notes and clearing general customer enquiries.
  4. Purchase Reconciliation: Assisting the purchasing department to ensure data is accurate for later reconciliation for accounting purposes.
  5. Expense Management: Monitoring and processing employee expense claims and ensuring they comply with company policy.
  6. General Ledger: Assisting in maintaining accurate general ledger entries and resolving discrepancies.
  7. Setting up supplier accounts, maintaining existing account details within purchase and sales ledgers.
  8. Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
  9. Maintaining existing spreadsheets to assist with financial planning.
  10. Dealing with supplier queries via phone or email.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Proven experience in accounts administration or bookkeeping.
  2. A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  4. Knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations is a plus.
  5. Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field are preferred.
