Job Overview

GSL Education is seeking a skilled Behaviour Teaching Assistant - SEMH Specialist to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school located in Tower Hamlets.

This long-term, full-time role offers a competitive salary range of £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience).

About the Role
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Help students manage their emotions and behaviours in a positive, constructive way.
  • Work with the SENCO and teaching staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist students during lessons and transitions, helping them remain engaged and focused.
  2. Promote inclusion and help students feel confident and valued within the school community.
  3. Ensure that students follow the school's behavioural and safeguarding guidelines.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or similar qualifications are preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is beneficial.
