Job Title: SEMH Teacher

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join our team at I C Talent Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs and challenging behaviours, particularly in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles, abilities, and challenges, including sensory processing differences and communication difficulties.
  • Incorporate hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to support students with physical disabilities or sensory impairments in accessing the science curriculum.
  • Assess student progress regularly using a variety of assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in special education and adapt teaching strategies to meet the evolving needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, adaptive equipment, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about supporting the academic and personal growth of students with special educational needs.

Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
