Special Education Teacher for Science

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at I C Talent Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a secondary school setting.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs. As a Special Education Teacher for Science, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging and accessible lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons adapted to individual student needs and abilities.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles, abilities, and challenges, including sensory processing differences and communication difficulties.
- Incorporate hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to support students with physical disabilities or sensory impairments in accessing the music curriculum.
- Assess student progress regularly using a variety of assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students with diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies, adaptive equipment, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about supporting the academic and personal growth of students with special educational needs.
We offer a competitive salary of £140+ per day (dependent on experience), plus a range of benefits and opportunities for professional development.
A successful candidate will undergo a DBS and police check where required. They will also provide at least two references from previous employers.
