Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support the Infrastructure Services Team in the development of departmental and business-wide service improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the existing infrastructure landscape and helping shape the future infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of on-prem and cloud infrastructure
  • Support and oversee all aspects of infrastructure operations across all sites
  • Provide technical support through Incident, Change & Problem Management procedures
  • Maintain operation of system environments, including upgrade of platforms, OS, and infrastructure
  • Administer existing outsourced VMware and cloud infrastructure
  • Storage management, including capacity planning, retention, backups, and recovery management
  • Citrix estate management
  • Patch management for desktops, servers, networking equipment, and all other hardware
  • Infrastructure administration activities for Active-Directory, M365, Exchange, SCCM
  • Undertake proactive, scheduled maintenance work and upgrades and improvements
  • Support 1st and 2nd line service desk colleagues with escalated tickets as necessary
  • Undertake project work, including design, and service improvement work
  • Other duties as designated by the Senior IT Management Team
  • Work with the Information Security Team to ensure all infrastructure is secure and protected

About You:
  • Solid problem-solving skills, with proficient attention to detail
  • Windows Server 2012 through to 2022
  • Virtualisation, VMware, or Hyper-V
  • HP & Aruba Network Switch Patching, Management, and Configuration
  • Confident in fault diagnosis across technologies and platforms and experience of rectifying faults within established SLAs
  • Experience operating in a change control and configuration management environment
  • Ability to competently act as the technical point of contact for escalation for incidents

Working Arrangements:
The successful candidate will be expected to occasionally visit regional offices. It may be necessary to work extra hours to finish a job or undertake out-of-hours maintenance. Salary is dependent on experience.
