We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Director to lead our Eastern regional Land Team based in our St Albans office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring land and ensuring site selection is in accordance with our defined criteria.
They will maintain budgetary control over all aspects of the Land Department's operations, including approving additional costs on land projects and agreeing exceptions to project budgets to maintain profit margins.
The ideal candidate will be a motivating and supportive manager, leading a team of Land Buyers and responsible for their career development, setting and meeting their targets, and conducting necessary training and one-to-ones.
They will possess excellent communication skills, able to build working internal and external relationships, particularly with the Regional Managing Director, Main Board, and Solicitors, representatives of Local Authorities, Estate Agents, and Surveyors.
The role requires extensive travel within the region, so a valid UK Driver's License is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire land in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain budgetary control over Land Department operations
- Lead and develop a team of Land Buyers
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Travel extensively within the region
Requirements:
- Senior Management experience in land acquisition for residential developments
- Proven track record in land purchase
- Advanced negotiation skills with tact and ability to influence others
- Clear, professional communication skills and confidence to present in meetings
- Valid UK Driver's License
