About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Director to lead and support our Eastern regional Land Team based in our St Albans office.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for acquiring land and ensuring site selection is in accordance with our defined criteria.

You will maintain budgetary control over all aspects of the Land Department's operations, including approving additional costs on land projects and agreeing exceptions to project budgets.

Additionally, you will be a motivating and supportive manager, leading a team of Land Buyers and responsible for their career development, setting and meeting their targets, and conducting necessary training and one-to-ones.

With extensive travel requirements within the region, you must have a valid UK Driver's License.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire land in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain budgetary control over land department operations
  • Lead and manage a team of Land Buyers
  • Develop and implement land acquisition strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in land purchase and a senior management background with experience in buying land for residential developments.

A sector-associated qualification such as an RICS or MRTPI qualification would be desirable.

You will have advanced negotiation skills, tact, and the ability to influence others with clear, professional communication skills and confidence to present in meetings.
