About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Dabster as a Lead Control Specialist. This is a key position that requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the development of event and rate driven application software for control and protection systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team, ensuring that software development practices are followed and that the highest quality solutions are delivered.
  • Software Development: Lead the design and development of event and rate driven application software for control and protection systems, utilizing expertise in power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems.
  • Team Management: Promote Agile Software development practices within the team and lead team members on Git, Jira, and Confluence for version control, task/defect management, and documentation.
  • Communication: Foster strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Engineering degree in Computer Science or power systems and power electronics subjects, or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation tools, with a strong understanding of functional characteristics of power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to promote Agile Software development practices and lead team members on version control, task/defect management, and documentation.
