About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at GE Grid Solutions. As a key member of our Control Systems Application team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of control and protection systems for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of control and protection systems for HVDC schemes, including the design and implementation of control algorithms and protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that control systems meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design guides, user manuals, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve control system design and implementation.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in control systems design and development, with a focus on HVDC schemes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of control system design principles, including control theory and protection strategies.
  • Experience with simulation tools, such as PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK.
